    Hi Sandra,

So so sorry to hear of everything you have been through. I’m very glad to hear that your son is doing well and your girls are fit and healthy – long may this continue.

My paternal uncle (Georgie was my maternal cousin) also has a gene mutation but he is over 50 years old and has not had any major health concerns to date (I’m touching wood whilst typing this) I genuinely hope this is the case for your children too.

I have complete faith in my uncle Pan and the work he plans to do with the trust so stick with the forum and I’m sure real changes will be made on the screening front one day in the future.

    take care x

    Hi Helen,

I’m so so sorry to hear of everything you have been through – hopefully this site and the wonderful people here will be able to show you that you are not alone in your experiences.

I really wish you and Archie all the very best and look forward to getting to know you a little better through the forum.

    Hi all,

I’ve shown the draft to a few doctors at work ( I work in Harley Street) and they found the information really interesting. In fact none of them had heard of Li Fraumeni or TP53 before they read the leaflet, which highlights the importance of it!

    Hi Verity,

Thank you for sharing your story. I’m so sorry to hear about your brother, your mother and your son. I am so glad to hear you are cancer free so far and so vigilant with your health and the health of your children. It sounds like you are a warrior like my Uncle Pan! Having lost six relatives to the disease and all of them having genetic mutations, I know that it is a constant battle to receive good care and vital information and I applaud you for fighting so hard.

I hope the trust and my Uncle Pan can help you in any way we can and I really do wish the best for you and your family x

    Hi Karen,

I’m sorry to read about your diagnosis and I’m really sorry to read about what’s happened to your loved ones.

I hope your doctor gives you as much information as possible but hopefully you’ll get lots of information here too.

    Keep us updated

    Hi everyone,

My name is Penny and I’m George’s cousin. His dad is my mum’s brother. George died on my birthday and was my sixth close relative to die at the cruel hands of cancer. Unfortunately the paternal side of my family also carries a gene which makes certain relatives more susceptible to the disease, although my siblings and I are not carriers.

George’s death has left me heartbroken but I am very keen to help other people in his honour so please introduce yourselves, I’m eager to hear of other’s experiences of LFS and TP53.
